The S55 turbo engine from the BMW F87 M2 C, F8x M3 and M4 F8x uses plastic charge air pipes on both the hot and the cold side. These pipes are a huge weak point on any tuned car, in some cases even on the originals. The OE plastic pipes burst, causing boost pressure leaks.

With our performance intercooler J-pipe, we offer a solution to the problem and at the same time optimize the air flow!

In order to obtain an exact 3D model of the space available for our intercooler pipe, we created a detailed 3D scan of our M3 Competition engine compartment. With the help of this 3D scan model, we were able to design a new 3.5 ″ (89 mm) cast J-tube with a nice, smooth course. Most of the J-tubes available on the market are made up of bent 3 "tubes that are cut and welded in several parts to achieve the J-shape. The OE J-tube is 3.3 "(85mm) so it's clear a 3" version isn't ideal in terms of airflow, which was also confirmed in our Superflow Flow Bench.

Our final design is a super durable 3.5 ″ (89 mm) cast J-tube that improves airflow. It has a free shape with the same diameter up to the throttle valve, which is "impossible" to achieve with a bent pipe. Our J-tube has two methanol injection connections (1/8 -27 NPT), which are closed with plugs on delivery. A more durable silicone hose is also included, along with matte black hose clamps for a clean, unobtrusive look. A new C-clip is included to attach the J-tube to the throttle instead of the flimsy OE plastic retaining clip.
